2025 FALL UPDATE: The trail is now closed due to the ministry undertaking a multi-year
reconstruction of the Highway 401 and Leslie Road interchange, which includes
replacement of all structures at Leslie Road and the Don River over five (5)
construction phases. The current construction project is Contract 2, which
commenced in April 2022 and is expected to be completed by December 2026.

We are fortunate to have the use of Betty Sutherland trail adjoining our neighbourhood.

The trail borders the west end of our neighbourhood and follows the meanders of the East Don River from Duncan Mills Road to Sheppard Avenue.
The paved trail is 1.85 kilometres long and is situated in 104 acres of green land.
Residents can take a stroll along the trail, jog, cycle or roller blade.

Betty Sutherland served 13 years as an elected representative of the former North York Council until her retirement from politics in 1985. From 1979 to 1985, Mrs. Sutherland was a member of the former Metropolitan Toronto Council and the former Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Devoted to the improvement of recreational opportunities for citizens and visitors to Metro Toronto. The trail was named in her honour by the former Metropolitan Toronto Council on March 1, 1988, in recognition of her significant contribution to the development of the regional parks system.
